Growth Project: Zee Bikes

This ad and its copy was created as part of a Skillshare class in copywriting. The brief was an opportunity to create a copy-driven, integrated ad campaign: for a fictional bike company looking to expand outside of Seattle and reach commuters ages 30-50 who live within 5 miles of their work site.

THE BRIEF
Who is this for? Zee Bikes, an electric bike company from Seattle, Washington, founded in 2017.
The goal? To expand market outside the northwest, stand apart from competition ▸Who are we talking to? Commuters ages 25-45, drive to work, income $50-150K
▸ What do we know about them? Live within 30 minutes of work, drivers, varied housing, somewhat active, convenience is key
▸ Barriers to adoption? Time, safety, weather, activity, upfront cost
▸ What are we making? • 1 digital ad and 1 billboard

Digital Ad for Facebook

I decided for this ad that we should play a game of “Would you rather?” It’s an easy game that almost everyone has played at least once in their lives. You have two choices, so which one is better?

And it’s a no brainer when it comes to whether you’d like to sit in traffic for an hour after a long day or grab your bike to breeze home, getting in a little exercise and fresh air while you commute.

Why this works: Everyone has felt the frustration of being stuck in their car at rush hour and how much of a time waste it is. What if you could commute efficiently AND use that time for something you enjoy? E-bikes are a win-win!

Billboard Design

You’re stuck in traffic after a long day. And then you see a billboard with a happy man in a business suit cycling home. Why couldn’t that be you? Instead of wasting your time in the car in bumper to bumper traffic, you could be like this guy, zipping along on an empty trail or bike lane through town. Start spinning your wheels and start thinking about how much better your commute could be with an e-bike.

Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
